The Gold Rush game originally launched for STEAM (PC) in 2017 and immediately captured the minds and hearts of hardcore Gold Rush fans who contribute to making that show Discovery’s #1 program.
The 2017 launch of the game took a 360 approach, tapping into all of the network’s touchpoints for a maximum-impact marketing campaign that offered teasers, gameplay trailers and even lines to camera from the show’s talent. Leveraging Discovery’s international footprint, we tapped into local markets’ appetite for social content by offering up even more content in the way of gameplay tips, game code giveaways and local influencer support to make the game as relevant to the audience as possible.
The 2021 launch of the console versions of the game (XBOX Series, Playstation series) takes this to the next level with storefront advertising in key markets, a strategic social media campaign leveraging top-performing assets from the previous campaign and new content devised to hook in non-gamers to the game franchise.
